PROJECT BRIEF
Riga Stradins University, founded in 1950 based on the Medical Faculty of the University of Latvia, has remained an active institution. However, over the years, the building required significant renovation to meet modern standards. The project required meticulous and comprehensive examination.
PROJECT DETAILS
The education design project began with a thorough assessment of the internal configuration of the premises and the facade. Based on this assessment, proposals for replacement and restoration solutions were developed. Given the historical and practical significance of the building for Riga and Latvia, the Rīga Stradiņš University design project primarily entailed the restoration and replacement of windows and doors, along with the renovation of the facade, roof, and attic.
We aimed to modernize the building and align it with current educational institution standards while preserving its valuable authenticity for the residents of Riga. This delicate balance allowed us to create a high-quality university, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics, ensuring its longevity for many more years.
PROJECT OUTCOMES
The outcome of this project is a renewed and functional Riga Stradins University that seamlessly integrates modern educational requirements with historical authenticity.
